So, your name, SRB, is interesting... How did you decide on the name?

SRB stands for Solid Rocket Boosters, which are the rockets used to launch space shuttles.
In the past i had done some shows with a group of video artists under that name, and when they
stopped i thought it was a cool name for the faster stuff i was working on.

What’s your favorite word that starts with the letter “S”?

Snotaap

Your music is very unique. There are many ways your sound could be described; Terror, Speedcore, Uptempo, Dutchcore... Who
would you say are your biggest influences?

My biggest influences are old tracks ; 80's music, oldschool hip-hop, electro and cheesy pop music. Listening to that sort of music
always gives me inspiration to remix it in my own style. Also i'd say i'm influenced by hardcore of the past, when it was just fast and
straight-forward.

You have an upcoming birthday party in Brunssum at the Pompgebouwen. You’ve played there before, what do you like best about
Pompgebouwen?

It's a really nice underground location, with a good loud sound system and friendly personnel. Last time the atmosphere was
really great, i'm sure it will be like that again in December !

What is your favorite city or country to play?

My hometown, because then i don't have to travel so far.

Nowadays, the harder style in music is blowing up with more people listening to it now than ever before. How does an artist like
yourselve who’s been around since the 90s stay current?

I try to always renew myself, keep learning new stuff about producing music and use new technical possibilities in my music.
And ofcourse i always want to stay ahead, in stead of following the trends. I don't really follow a style, i just keep doing what i like
and i'm happy that a lot of people seem to appreciate it.

How would say the music scene is different in the Netherlands versus Germany?

There are not so many differences anymore. The best thing about Germany is that most clubs don't have any loudness restrictions.
The good thing about Holland is that there are so many parties in a small country. But the crowds in both countries are great.

What is your own personal favorite SRB track?

"SRB - Absence Of Light", i love the vocal choir in that track. And also "Mirror Mirror" with Danny Firestone because of the
sentimental value. It contains his vocals which he recorded the day before he passed away.

Are you working on any new projects that you’d like the Hardcore Magazine readers to know about?

I'm always working on new tracks. Right now i'm working on a new "SRB Presents This Is Terror" compilation e.p. which will
be released soon. And also on a couple of new SRB tracks for a new e.p.
